yo i’m looking for game artists?

boblittboy:

hi i’m bobby and i want to be a game designer when i grow up, but even small games are large projects that require more than what i can just input, so i’d really like to work together with someone! making games is my dream, and i’ve been dying to make one successful one at least before i get into the game design school thing, but so far i’ve been working with people who give up too fast to get anything off the ground. basically, i’m looking for you if:

  • you’re a really motivated artist (actual drawing skills are optional) who’s at the very least half as excited as me about making a game
  • you have the time to actually do a lot of work because i promise, a series of failed projects have taught me that games are really a lot of work, and seeing as how i don’t expect to get like 10 artists to work with me, a lot will fare on you. it’s a big responsibility!
  • you’re eager to learn, maybe some through trial-and-error!

also lemme list a few of the awesome advantages that this will have for you:

  • it will look super sweet on your portfolio, even if we end up making a really dumb game, they’ll know that you have a bit of experience and that you actually can do this!
  • actual experience too
  • i’m a terrible person who will force you to do a lot of research, all of which you will learn a lot from though (and in fact, the skill of researching is a very important one to know what you are actually doing in your arts)
  • you’ll have made a game how cool is that

i can do some simple programming in ren’py, and i’d probably do the concept for the story, the dialogue, such things, and i’ve got a person for the music. your role would be something along the lines of (mostly physical) character design, the artwork and sprites where applicable, and also research where that is necessary for the designs you’re making. because my standards are super low, i’ll be willing to make any kind of genre of game with you and you would have say in the story probably, although i would prefer a visual novel like game because that is the easiest to program for me.

ps: i won’t pay you.

message me if you are interested, or drop me an e-mail at lolhammy@gmail.com! even if you aren’t interested, could you spread the word for me and signal boost me a little maybe?

today i told my p.e. teacher that if he wants me to like draw something i’d need paper and a surface to draw on and that i was going to the arts room
i spent 10 minutes on what i actually was supposed to draw, about 50 minutes sketching on this, and about 30 minutes lying on my back wondering what i was doing with my life and showed him the thing i was supposed to draw and he was really impressed
it’s good i can get away with some things
meanwhile i gotta do some reffing

You can’t get much happier than a pig in muck, or so we are told.
But when this little piggy arrived in the farmyard she showed a marked reluctance to get her trotters dirty. While her six brothers and sisters messed around in the mire, she stayed on the edge shaking. It is thought she might have mysophobia - a fear of dirt.
Owners Debbie and Andrew Keeble were at a loss, until they remembered the four miniature wellies used as pen and pencil holders in their office. They slipped them on the piglet’s feet - and into the mud she happily ploughed. [x]

This is your child before and after one year of exposure to a new street drug knows as “The Animes.” Police forces are still researching the sources of this substance, but it is known to be very addictive and its side effects are nearly irreversible.
Signs that your child may be under the influence of “The Animes” include:
making an account on deviantART.com - While it appears innocent, this website is actually a black market for different types of “The Animes.” It contains the highest concentration of animes abusers worldwide.
changing their typing habits - If your Honors student starts typing sentences that substitute “teh” for “the” or uses asterisks for actions (i.e., *noms on you XD*) or starts adding -chan to the end of names, “The Animes” have most likely gotten to a near-irreversible state that requires years of therapy.
a sudden interest in Top Ramen - In it’s early stages, your child or loved one may request to eat instant ramen noodles up to a few times a week. At this stage, it is still possible to fix some of the damage “The Animes” have caused. However, if they begin using chopsticks with every meal, you may have no choice but to lock them in their room and confiscate all Hot Topic products.
